C-sections may be causing evolutionary changes

According to researchers, the rise of cesarean sections in recent years may be contributing to an even bigger gap between the size of newborns and their mothers’ pelvises. The researchers estimate that the regular use of C-sections has led to a 10 – 20 percent increase in the gap between female pelvis width and babies’ size.

Dublin hospitals agree over mediator

St Vincent’s hospital and the National Maternity Hospital (NMH) have agreed to the appointment of a high-profile mediator to lead a final effort at resolving their row over governance structures.
The decision by the two Dublin hospitals to resume talks under a mediator, follows separate meetings with new Minister for Health Simon Harris, who had urged an early return to the negotiating table.
